Shahrukh Khan reveals: One film he wants to do before he dies!

Shahrukh Khan, over the past 20 years, has wooed and wowed millions of fans all over the world with a plethora of films right from DDLJ to Don playing an array of characters from a flamboyant, carefree lover boy to a slick, dexterous underworld schemer. But the so-called Badshah ofBollywood has finally poured out his heart to reveal his ultimate desire, that ultimate goal, that one film which he wants to make before he dies.
Fresh from playing superhero in a high-tech, hugely marketed ‘Ra One’, Shahrukh has disclosed that his ultimate goal is to make a trilogy on the Indian epic ‘Mahabharata’. SRK seems forlorn with a far-away look in his eyes as he walks into a dreamland seeing himself painting this epic movie on a large global canvas for the whole world to watch with awe & hypnotism.
Sharing details about the dream project, Shahrukh cites, “I think it would be fantastic, the world’s greatest film. It would be Mahabharata made like Lord of the Rings — a trilogy. The world would come to see it. The inherent story is one of the most interesting in the world. There are amazing superheroes, 20 times better than X-men — gods of the sun and wind who can make fire and gales at will. There are monsters, ghosts. It’s really awesome.”
Another Bollywood biggie actor Aamir Khan, too, had once vented his desire to film ‘Mahabharata’ on such a large canvas. But to make this epic monster movie on such a large parameter is something that only the greatest of great men could even think of. The cost of creating the movie will be colossal; something as close to Rs 2250 crore that went into Avatar’s making. As Aamir had rightly pointed out back then, that such a masterpiece would require as much as 10 years of relentless effort for the immense amount of research work involved!
We do hope that one day Aamir or SRK do take that gigantic step that would be a truly marvelous feat accomplished by Bollywood. Shahrukh has perhaps been silently nurturing this dream for years because he has had his share of talks with Hollywood banners like the Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox to breathe life to this dream. And we can be assured that some day, indeed, he would achieve this goal for, as he quips, ‘Mahabharata’ is one film that he wants to do before walking into the sinking sunset.
